Our Christmas Festivities

So...it is feeling more like Christmas now around here. I got our wreath made and hung on the door. Some good friends of ours have quite a bit of land with tons and tons of different types of trees and berries. So, this is the second time I've gone to their house to make a wreath with their home grown foliage! :)
It was warm enough to wear short sleeves! Actually, we just started digging a garden plot outside and letting Brayden play in the front yard. It has been in the 70's for the last couple of days...today is drizzly though. Perfect time to make Christmas cookies.

Brayden is looking at his cousin Ethan on the computer. I'm trying to tell him about all of his cousins all over and show him pictures of them. Brayden has 10 cousins!

Today I've been baking up a storm. We are having the Christmas Eve party at our house and I wanted to have a cookie tray....I made three different types.

These are called "Suprise Package Cookies." They are shortbread but then in the middle of the cookie is an Andes Mint. Yum. I found the redipe in Taste of Home.

Here are the almond bark pretzels and such. THese always remind me of my dad. In the mountains during Christmas break I would make these and dad would always come snitch before they were done hardening.

And the classic gingerbread cookie....also a reminder of home.

OK...I am speaking from actual personal experience that Alyssa is an amazing hostess and cook! It was the best Christmas Eve I have ever spent as an adult! My favorite 2 yummies were the cheese ball and the Ritzy Peanut Bark Cookies! Can we all say, "YAY!"???
