Rainy Days Are For Cupcakes

Rainy days are for :

- piecing together puzzles....about 10 times in a row
- shopping online (I got the BEST deals at Old Navy today...like dollar flip flops and 2 dollar skirts)

- drinking my fair share of red raspberry leaf tea (my uterus thanks me)
- washing, drying, and folding ALL of Trinity's old clothes and getting them ready to consign (once I found out that Sweet Pea was a boy I decided to get rid of Trin's baby things...I'm keeping a few favorites.)
- making doctor's appointments and filling in my *to do list* in my little red book

- snuggling with my littles on the couch
- ready fairy tales....long ones
- playing soccer in the house for a hour (my thighs DON'T thank me for this, but my kids do)

- making cupcakes with the ingredients I don't have (I found out you can use a mixture of baking soda and cream of tarter when you are out of baking powder - and Reddi Whip makes a really great light frosting replacement.)

All in all it was a good day despite the *winter mix* going on outdoors. I'm tired now though...very tired. I actually treated us to pizza tonight since the cupboards are bare. Okay...there is rice and 6 cans of tuna, some corn tortillas and about 1/2 cup of applesauce... but... really? We just wanted pizza.
The kids have been doing really well considering how long they have been stuck inside. Today I was sorting all of Trinity's clothes, getting ready to consign some spring stuff and I just couldn't get my mind off of tank tops and shorts, flowers and lemonade. I'm so very ready for warmer temperatures and for some deep spring cleaning. I got rid of 4 boxes of clothes today so at least I have begun the mighty PURGE. Trin thought I was crazy getting rid of such lovely clothes but it's like I told her...."I have to get rid of these ones so you will have new ones." It really is a necessity. I thought it would be harder then it was getting rid of all the little pastel flowery dresses and jumpers...at this point I'm so tired of clutter I wasn't bothered. i did keep a few favorites though. I guess if there are any *surprises* down the road and IF the *surprise* is a girl....she'll be getting all new things. :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Tuesday....I'm off to watch Wheel of Fortune with the kids, our nightly routine. Tomorrow holds family time for us and a trip to the store for some fruit and bread...and baking powder.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I just sat down and read your latest posts and was totally drawn in. I am loving your creativity and relating to your 900 square feet crowded feeling, and on some other things as well. I will come again for sure.

purging trinity's clothes pro: you're getting another box in the mail from us to replace them so now you'll have room!
con: you're supposed to keep every single piece of clothing your kids ever wore in case we ever do have babies!
oh right - no storage. :-(
