Thrifting for a Trinity...

So I forgot how wonderful *thrifting* in a big city could be. Even with four kids in tow, Zac and I made out like bandits this afternoon. Two pairs of rain boots, in almost new condition....$2.00 a pair (please take note that the green pair is name brand Crocs....steallllll.) We found an end table for our bedroom for $7.00 (just needs a bit of paint) and a canvas print for Trin's room...also $2.00.
   This little dress for $2.00....
Isn't the back sweet? Trinity loves to wear dresses ALL of the time so I'm all for it if I can find cheap little play dresses like this one. I told Zac that now that we live here I'm probably totally done buying our kids clothes at department stores (except for the spare back of underwear or two) - I'm going to become a "thrifter" again. It's so fulfilling to walk out of a store knowing that you saved a ton of money on everyday items.  I was even able to get back in the coupon game this afternoon...I snagged a package of Morning Star hot dogs, four bottles of dial hand soap (the green tea scent), a bottle of bubble bath, and a  big yellow ball for Tristan for $8.00 total. Exciting times ahead folks.....
After our shopping I was able to finally complete Trinity's room - I really love the way it turned out. It's really girlish but not overwhelmingly so. I chose grey curtains for her room to kind of balance out the pink (I'm sure she would have loved pink and purple curtains with bright yellow poms poms hanging off of them but I just couldn't bring myself to allow that much girlyness in our house...shudder...) She likes these ones too though since they are long beautiful fabric.
She has two large windows...I think she has the brightest room in the whole house.
All of the rooms have lots of closet space.....almost too much if that's possible? Seriously though, none of the kids closets have anything in them except a few pieces of clothes hanging and maybe a toy box. There's so much room I might even, you know...possibly...collect some cluttler just for spite?
And here's the little print that we got today at the thrift store. Isn't that just perfectly girly?
I'll slowly be adding pictures of the house but I just can't bring myself to post ALL of the pictures at once...I think I'll take it room by room. So, those of you who are curious...guess you'll just have to take the "newness" in by sips instead of one giant gulp. Plus, the basement isn't even done and I'm just OCD enough to let that bother me. SO.... sorry. :)

I adored wearing dresses when I was a little girl, and we used to get millions of little dresses at thrift stores. Thrifting is the best! =)
