Father's Day Climb

One happy Father's Day weekend, after a strong hankering for a picnic and a mountain climb, I got my wish (Happy Father's Day to me.) With cheese sandwiches packed and a Grandaddy following us, we made our way through winding mountains to Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
There were rocks for climbing, grasses to be waded through, flowers to be picked.
Trinity says "Oh mom, sit right there...let me take your picture with that lovely flower."
The word *lovely* just doesn't seem "lovely" enough does it. Thank you God for wildflowers.
After a little picnic (sandwiches and fruit in fresh mountain air makes the top of my *most enjoyable occasions* list) we packed up our cooler and Disney cups and made way for the trail...
Don't forget the Bug!
Brady wasn't into the trees so much even though this picture depicts him a little differently. I asked him a question at one point about something nature related and he answered "Mom, how old will Finn be in 2025."
Twas nice having an extra set of hands along to help with littles - Tristan started storing rocks in his cargo pockets after watching Grandaddy storing away some in his. Such lovely trails and gorgeous trees...
Aspens are so beautiful - someday I'm going to have a yard with at least six of them (one tree per family member.)
Well, by thunder! How did that lovely man get on the same trail as us! Oh yah....it's the father. A very handsome father...."dreamy" as Marsha Brady would say.
And the saluting aspens in all their long spindly glory....
I took a picture of all the men in "Aspen Jail" which I think turned out mighty cute. We were going to continue hiking when Trinity said...
"And take a picture of us women!" Yes, equally as important dear squirrel. It was a memorable time...Happy Father's Day!

Looks so beautiful - you are making me want to move to Colorado! How are things going - settling in? How are the kids liking the big move?
