A Bit of Spring Cleaning...Months in Advance

Isolation....a feeling I know all to well. So what do I do about it? Dive right in. That's right.....not only am I a 45 minute drive from the "big" city.....30 minutes from our church, hours and hours and hours away from family - I've now cut myself from the outside world in a drastic way. Wait for it.....I deleted facebook. Gulp. I've always been an 'all of nothing" kind of gal...for good or bad.
I'm afraid that my obsession with "did anybody write me today" and then feeling let down when that answer is inevitably "no" has gotten to be too big of a deal in my heart and mind. I took it even a step further....I deleted Green Mama blog too (yes I did.) It was nice knowing you Green Mama....maybe you can come back when your children are in their 20's or so.
I've just been finding myself a little bit to preoccupied with the computer and the wanting of friends, the comparison of their lives to mine....the let down of not feeling important to cyperspace. I've decided that my focus needs to be shifted back to my home and my littles....not who in this world wants to take a *time out* for me...that's just selfish anyways. So....with my new found freedom and the facebook chain taken off of my neck I'm sure I'll be devoting more time to this space....my old crafty self and hopefully some lovely photos if the sunshine would cooperate.

Hi Alyssa! I am new to your blog. Found you through the Art of Homemaking. I totally understand what you are saying about FB. I too have been too preoccupied and bloggyland can be a real time sucker too. I often feel inadequate and grumpy after exploring too many crafty mama blogs.
I applaud you your deletion and I have often wanted to do the same thing. I'm not sure I can do it... yet. Anyway, enjoy your New YEar!

I just sat down to write you a note back after your post on my wall yesterday and I was wondering what happened! I'm guilty of the same thing too. It's too easy to get caught up in reading about everyone else and ignore what's right in front of me. :) I'd love to chat about homeschooling though! Shoot me an e-mail!

uHey, I've been considering deleting Facebook too! Haven't yet, but I find it often feeds depression for me. Not sure why. I think because I often see folks living contrary to how God would have them to??? Anyway, I love you and will pupose to go to the Blog now instead of FB to see what up with you and the family.

HOWEVER, if sometime in the future you should choose to go back to facebook. it will be ok.
i think i understand your reasons for leaving it....but it is ok
for you to have something just for you. i know for myself...sometimes i just need a few minutes to myself.

Hey Springy! Here's to loving you just for being you! You are a very special young lady and I want you to be encouraged by what I see the Lord doing in and through you! You see dear one, God and your parents let me have you as a borrowed daughter for a very precious time! I have found that to have given me a tie to you that I don't know how to describe except to say that I'm proud of you and praying for you. Lots of love to you (and to Zac and those precious littles).
